Stitch Tutorial

Image to UI

Upload a whiteboard sketch, screenshot, or wireframe. Stitch processes the image to produce a digital UI.

What is Image to UI?

Image to UI lets you upload any visual reference — a whiteboard sketch, a screenshot of an existing app, a wireframe from Figma, or even a photo of a napkin drawing — and Stitch will interpret it to generate a polished digital interface. This bridges the gap between rough ideation and digital design, making it incredibly fast to go from concept to high-fidelity mockup.

How to Use It

Click the image upload icon in the prompt bar, or drag and drop an image onto the canvas. You can optionally add a text description alongside the image to guide the AI. For example, upload a hand-drawn wireframe and add "Convert this to a modern e-commerce product page with a clean, minimal style." Stitch will analyze the layout, structure, and visual elements in your image and produce a digital equivalent.

Best Input Types

Stitch works well with a variety of image inputs. Hand-drawn sketches on paper or whiteboard are great for early ideation. Screenshots of competitor apps help you quickly create alternatives. Low-fidelity wireframes get elevated to high-fidelity designs. Even partial designs or single components can be uploaded for Stitch to complete and enhance.

Tips & Best Practices

  • 1Ensure your sketch has clear, dark lines on a light background for best recognition.
  • 2Add text labels to your sketches — Stitch uses them to understand component purposes.
  • 3Combine image input with text prompts for maximum control over the output.
  • 4Upload screenshots of designs you admire and ask Stitch to create something "in this style."
  • 5Use the Design Variants feature after image upload to explore different interpretations.

Example Prompts

[Upload wireframe sketch] "Convert this wireframe into a polished mobile app with Material Design styling."
[Upload screenshot] "Redesign this dashboard with a dark theme and better data visualization."
[Upload napkin sketch] "Turn this rough layout into a professional landing page for a tech startup."
